If You really want to help others, start with yourself.
There are many people who want to help, who mean to do good for their family, for their community, for their country; however, the real help for others starts from within. Often, if we are not leading the way by example with our actions, our message for help gets distorted. It is essential to be honest, for honesty is one of most important virtues in helping. Only by not having alternative motives behind our actions can we be beneficial to others, to help them for their own good, and not for our profit.
Again, help starts with being honest with ourselves, learning about ourselves and constantly improving our emotional, spiritual and physical well being. When we get through hard times and use the experience to positively influence our lives, we create energy around us, which others feed from. In turn, they become motivated and rise more easily above their challenges.
